Ellis Rooms
The Ellis wing, originally called the ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ˜South WingÃÛèÖÊÓƵ™, was named after Dr. Constance Ellis. It was the first wing of the ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ, opening in 1937. Dr. Ellis was the first woman to earn a Doctor of Medicine degree in Melbourne. Dr. Ellis was also an active member of the Provisional Committee for our ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ, all while having a full and varied career as a physician and pathologist at the Queen Victoria Hospital.
The Ellis Wing rooms have hardwood flooring and a north-facing aspect, overlooking the spacious and colourful Giblin Courtyard.
Each level of the Ellis Wing has a shared bathroom, a kitchenette (equipped with sink, fridge, kettle and microwave).
All Ellis rooms have a double bed (four rooms with single/king single beds), mattress/mattress protector, two pillows, desk/chair, bedside table, lamp, fan, bin, blinds (rooms on the ground floor also have a privacy blind), wardrobe with hanging space, shelving and full length mirror and some rooms feature extra storage in the form of shelving and bookcases.
